Joshua Faudem is a documentary filmmaker from Jerusalem, Israel. He produces films that expose and/or confront various aspects of the cultural friction in Israel and strategies which everyday people employ to deal with them. A common theme of his work is an exploration of how members of conflicted cultures overcome their differences. While Joshua is neither a political activist nor a social scientist, he is a keen observer of the human condition and a talented story teller. His films include Jerusalem Parade about the first gay-lesbian pride parade in Jerusalem; The Russkii Battalion documents the story of thousands of former soldiers from the Soviet Union who have immigrated to Israel but are not allowed to serve in its armed forces; The Sound of Tolerance follows a young backpackers reception as he interacts with the citizens of Prague; A Will to Dance, the story of an aged Jewish Holocaust survivor who fell in love Czech-German soldier; and, Blues by the Beach about the tragic suicide bombing of a nightclub in Tel Aviv.
